Welcome to day 37 of the 365 day poem challenge.
Word of the day stoic meaning: a person who can endure pain or hardship without showing their feelings or complaining.
Morning Neurosis
The sparking neurons
React and fire like steel wool
Scraped over metal
The blender saw blades
Sending fruit squelching
Noisily until it thucks
Like a plank into the cup
Sipping with apathy eyes
The stoic march
Towards the horizon
The sound of water and fountains
And feet are lost
And there is a tunnel
Long dark and black
I want to retreat or turn back
But my feet carry me forwards
All I can do
All I could ever do is to slow down
But as I do the dark depths approach
Like a meteor about to bombard me.
