Welcome to day 58 of the 365 day poem challenge.
Word of the day aeolist meaning: "
(rare) A pompous person, pretending to have inspiration or spiritual insight."
Legend
There is a figure about whom
Great tales are told
I could not tell you whether
It be woman or man
But I see their guise in my mind
It's so clear now
The gloaming light casts their silhouette like eternal bronze
They are a wanderer
They have been a vagabond
And most assuredly have lived in
The ways that you and I have
There is penance and
Passion and mountains both physical and mental endured
They are etched upon their forehead
They have lost the
Simpleness of youth
Their countenance is gnarled complexity
They say that there will be never be another of their like
They say a great many things
The aeolist proclaims: "none shall be as those who have gone before"
But all that has gone before is
Doomed to an eternal circle
Hero is a long ago and troubled word
Some might say they are few
They are no longer real
Or others say they are become shadowy hazy apparitions
They are rather miscast and robed in unfamiliar and vague garments
They are enthroned
They are enshrined
They are entombed
They are enabled
They are defined
They are limited
They are bound
They are legend.
