As she was (had been) (34 of 365)

Welcome to day 34 of the 365 day poem challenge.

Word of the day is Vivacious meaning "(especially of a woman) attractively lively and animated."

As she was (had been)

Her eyes were seventy
But outside she was (had been)
Tethered to something
Younger vivacious

Inside she was worn down to the core
Her eyes told only of fatigue
Her smooth slight frame
Betrayed the sunset glow
That spread in red ringlets
from her frozen wrists.
