Welcome to day 40 of 365 day poem challenge.
Alluvium meaning: Sand, silt, clay, gravel, or other matter deposited by flowing water, as in a riverbed, floodplain, delta, or alluvial fan. Alluvium is generally considered a young deposit in terms of geologic time.
Alluvium
It came and swept
Along and absorbed all of it
In a violent whisper
Suspended tearing objects
Unseen and objects protruding
Then as soon as
It comes its gone and
The slurry slinks into the distance
Like a lizards tail
The bog now remains
The soft mush left behind
The cold kiss of earth
The fountain water
only buried a head's
Press into the shining mud.
